The action buttons are a bit too large, but FIFA 16 is by far the best mobile football experience around. It is a hard one to beat.

FIFA 16 Ultimate Team is good, but it’s not as good as it could be because it doesn’t cater to individual preferences.

FIFA 16 plays an excellent game of football but the lack of modes outside of Ultimate Team and dreadful menu design hold it back from true greatness.

Like a Premier League team that is well clear of the relegation zone but no threat for Champions League play, it does what it needs to do to maintain, but nothing more than that.

It has a solid new graphic engine and some refined gameplay mechanics, but FIFA 16 misses the point with Ultimate Team, with an absolutely terrible menu design and many connection problems.

Strangely it is a true pleasure to see FC Barcelona-esque combinations on your iPhone. There is no better soccer game available on the mobile devices, but EA Sports does make Ultimate Team a messy game that does not motivate you to build that star team.

So, I'm sure the very perceptive among you have figured out how disappointed I am with FIFA 16 UT. EA has turned the best football series on the App Store into a game about menus with the occasional basic ball-kicking.

Let's take all the good things about fifa and not put them in this game. That sums up this game.

Fifa 16 UT has updated graphics that would be considered nearly console quality. The player contracts are gone meaning you no longer have to keep track of how many games you have left before your star player decides he is leaving.

However, a plethora of issues remain.
    - It's pay to win.

    - If you spend your hard earned money to upgrade your squad to gold with 100 chemistry and a rating over 75, a low level team from a low league will make your team look like children and your efforts useless.

    - If you decide not to pay, you will still take the risk of facing high end teams like Barcelona early who will put in a stellar performance.

    - The reward per match is roughly 50-100 coins, but the cost for a good pack is 10000 coins. The minimum bid for higher quality players in the transfer market appears to be 2000 coins.

    - The transfer market just doesn't seem to work quite right. This will hopefully be fixed.

    - Controls are awful. Making passes seems to be a coin flip between actually passing the ball and kicking it to an opponent or out of bounds. If you try to set up a cross, your player seems to like giving the other team a goal kick instead.

    - Penalties seem quite arbitrary and random. Thankfully they are relatively low in occurrence.

    - System AI for your team overall just seems to be really poor.

    - Formations were removed. I particularly like running modified versions of the 4-5-1 and 3-5-2. I'm sad to see you are stuck choosing the generic formations with no ability to customize your team play.

    - If everything seems to be working and you manage to get your bronze team to perform like champions, the server loses connection. Connection issues happen quite frequently regardless if you are in a fixture or just browsing between menus.

Overall, I think there is some game play worth it in this game.but not enough to justify an essentially money grabbing fantasy soccer. Instead of playing this game you could watch a game, play the full fifa 16 for console/PC, or find a fantasy soccer league. Those would all be a more worthwhile use of your time and effort than this game.

The fact that EA only made this game compatible on the more advanced Apple devices just goes to show how clueless they really are. Why shouldThe fact that EA only made this game compatible on the more advanced Apple devices just goes to show how clueless they really are. Why should it matter what device you are releasing this game on, just release the bloody game like normal human beings! All the other companies manage to release their games on all their devices, so what is the big issue with you, EA?! The fact that there are only 500 live transfers, which is apparently what I have heard from multiple reviewers of the game all because you barely earn coins after matches and the packs are way too expensive, and this is all that I have heard (plus this game is only compatible with certain Apple devices), it just goes to show for all the non-existent effort you are putting into your games! EA, I am telling you now, if you do not change your ways, I will turn away from FIFA for good! You have been warned. Full Review »

This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. This game is so hard to win and hard to get good players, you will have to take all your time and effort to just get 10,000 coins and hopefully get a good pack. Playing a game and winning one is hard to do since the players can't pass worth crap and your opponents always score in the 45th and 90th minute which is really annoying. Trying to buy players in the market are too expensive and unaffordable, in order to get an 85 rated player you will need about 100,000 coins to buy him and for special cards you will need like 1,000,000 coins just to afford one at the minimum price. Overall I think This game is bad and not fun to play since most matches end up as a draw or a lose and players and packs are expensive. Full Review »
