These mechanics diminish the need to collect resources, instead rewarding strategic planning and effective defensive positioning.Keep units tightly packed for more powerful upgrades and combos, or spread them out for a wider defensive line. You’ll have to constantly evaluate your position, instead of the "place and forget" approach found in most defense titles.     Don't dismiss Evilot as a samey Lane Defense game, it's quite different from the rest and great fun for it.

    Evilot is an engaging journey that pretty much fires on all cylinders. The only thing this title needs is some Game Center integration, and it’s just a shame that a few achievements can’t be unlocked along the way.

    Evilot is enjoyable enough for those who like lane defense games, but the potentially confusing upgrade mechanic will be a turn off for those who just play an occasional game of Plants vs. Zombies.
