    If the developer can sort out the Game Center and control overlay problems, I really wouldn't have anything to complain about with Double Dragon.

    For some, the changes to Double Dragon might be enough to consider it anathema, but the updated gameplay, graphics and unlockable features adds a depth not available in the original while still remaining faithful to its roots.

    It's still a great re-imaging of one of the most beloved beat-em-ups of all time. The nostalgia alone is worth four bucks, so if you grew up with Double Dragon or just love a quality beat-em-up, don't hesitate to make this a part of your collection.

    The scroll-fighting action is pretty solid, the redone graphics and music are excellent, and the numerous unlockables and modes will keep you coming back -- but it all involves getting past that initial control barrier first.

    The learning curve on the controls is steep and is going to turn away anyone that dislikes virtual controls right form the start.

    Double Dragon is better than expected, but the virtual controls still need work. Though movement works fine, too many kicks and jumps failed from wonky buttons. If those were cleared up – and the control positioning was changed – Double Dragon would be worth another look.
