May 24, 2011Devil May Cry 4: Refrain is trying too hard, while seemingly ignoring the device it's running on.
-
Feb 14, 2011It's not quite Mirror's Edge or Dead Space, but if you like DMC, pick it up.
-
Feb 7, 2011Capcom did a good job recreating the world of Nero and Dante on the iPhone, right down to the buttrock that accompanies battle scenes.
-
Games Master UKApr 1, 2011It's pretty enough and fun for a short blast of action, but doesn't live up to the DMC name. [May 2011, p.95]
-
Mar 15, 2011The game leaves you with a feeling of mild disappointment and ultimately, the apathy felt throughout almost every aspect is what lets it down.
-
Mar 15, 2011Not a good porting: graphics look lame, and gameplay feels repetitive. Just for the die hard fans of Dante.
-
Mar 1, 2011As neat as it is that the stylish combat of Devil May Cry translates well to the mobile version, it still has a tendency to feel repetitive and button mashy.
-
Feb 10, 2011It may be fun at first, but Devil May Cry 4 Refrain comes with a large number of limitations, both in terms of gameplay and graphics. The game is far too easy, with infinite continue, the combat is oversimplified and the locations are too small and too similar to each other. It's still a decent action game for your iPhone / iPod Touch, but we were expecting more.
-
Feb 7, 2011Devil May Cry 4 refrain is chock-full of monsters to beat down, just don't expect anything deeper; the bare minimums for a 3D brawler have been met, but it's a complete let-down for the series as a whole.
-
Feb 7, 2011Devil May Cry 4 refrain is too basic to be anything more than mildly enjoyable, its lack of depth, excitement, and polish preventing the delivery of a more satisfying experience.
-
Feb 7, 2011All the component pieces are here, but given the severe control limitations the subtitle here should have been 'lite' not 'refrain'.
