Maybe the first game with its shiny new cars satisfied your drag racing fix, and that’s okay. But classic is cool, and CSR Classics doesa pretty nice job getting that point across. Rev it up and let’s race, daddy-o!

CSR Classics delivers a spectacular, immediate and fun drag racing experience, with lots of races and cars. Most of the contents, however, can be unlocked only paying for them.

Still gorgeous, still oddly compelling, still grind-tastic, and still more than a little cynical.

It may be more of the same, but that's alright by us. CSR Classics is another quality round of car collecting, upgrading, and drag racing.

CSR Classics holds all the appeal of its predecessor with a nice hot rod restoration element, but progression proves extremely slow and repetitive.

If the original CSR Racing's business model turned your stomach, you'd be advised to give CSR Classic a pretty wide berth. And that's once again a huge pity, because while the reflex gameplay is simple it's also a lot of fun when you're playing it. If you don't mind either playing in short bursts, or paying in large bursts, there's fun to be had here alongside the frustration.

But if you’re willing to pay money, you might as well should spend it on getting a better racer. And no, not the premium rides you can buy in CSR Classics, I mean a better racer.

CSR Classics is one to steer clear of unless you like doing the same thing over, and over again with virtually no stimulation all while asking for boatloads of money at all times.

I am so glad I did! The choice offered is to buy a 'Loved' car (i.e. new) or 'Unloved' (a banger) and do it up, the option I prefer to choose; I'm currently upgrading an E-type Jaguar on L3 and loving it! To upgrade you have to win money via races, or purchase $ with real currency; those of an impatient nature may wish to choose this route, but I like earning currency rather than spending the real stuff, no matter how tempting it might be to buy that 'special offer' car.
The racing is a simple quarter-mile drag race, so no steering, but the technique of getting the perfect start and gear change, along with appropriate use of the nitrous oxide button can win or lose a race.
This is a game you don't have to spend hours at a time playing ... but trust me, time flies when you're having fun!
