It's easy to discount a game based of what you see; Cowboy Guns looks like any other typical twin-stick shooter with a theme, but if you leave it at that you'll miss out on the fun gameplay and story contained within.

Despite its story-driven gameplay and similarities to Guerrilla Bob, Cowboy Guns failed to captivate us in any meaningful way.

Cowboy Guns is a game that has a good heart, but it feels like it's missing a lot of that, if I may be cliche, polish that the best games have. If it had a lot more of it, this could be worthwhile. Otherwise, it just doesn't feel worth it.

If you're a fan of dual-stick shooters and you're looking for something new to play, Cowboy Guns is certainly worth a try. However, newcomers to the genre or folks that can't stand cheesy Western stories may not get as much satisfaction out of it.

A good game lurks within Cowboy Guns, somewhere, but it is spoiled by the camera point of view and lack-lustre presentation.

Cowboy Guns is charming at first, but shoots itself in the foot before too long.

Chillingo had a foundation in place for an excellent spaghetti western for iPhone and iPad, but the designers failed to create a compelling experience.
