Cosmic Bump

While Cosmic Bump is at its heart another enjoyable-but-not-classic physics puzzler, it's something that will provide plenty of amusement, especially for those looking for a little more twitch timing in their physics puzzlers.

Only the slightly unreal feel of the physics themselves stand in the way of making this a perfect addition to the crop of physics puzzlers jostling for space on the App Store. It's still an enjoyable little game that's well worth picking up if you're interested by the idea of sticking pinball and physics puzzles together.

Unfortunately, the game's biggest issue, while not a deal breaker, is quite bothersome. Several times, we watched helplessly as an alien was about to roll off an edge, only to slowly roll in the opposite direction, where it remained until we were forced to restart the puzzle from the beginning. It also appears that the game doesn't take advantage of the new iPad or iPhone 4/4S' Retina display.

A true time waster in the sense that the minutes will whisk away as you plow through level after level of bouncing aliens around collecting lightning orbs. A decent play, but nothing memorable.

Cosmic Bump is a decent casual puzzler with a fun pinball element, but its physics and reliance on luck don't quite do the rest of the game justice.

Despite cute aliens and an interesting blend of pinball with slingshot-styled gameplay, Cosmic Bump just doesn't do enough to distinguish itself in an already overcrowded genre.
