If you enjoy good-looking games with arty pretentions and twinkly soundtracks, you might be intigued by Continue?9876543210. However, the restrictive controls and garbled narrative will likely test your patience to breaking point.

A befuddling game whose creator attempts to mask its incoherent world and sloppy game design with suggestions of intrigue and profundity.

It speaks the same emotional-spiritual language as Braid and Sword & Sworcery, but does it in its very own style, and with more replay value. Accessibility might be an issue, initially - however the challenge isn't insurmountable and there is help, and multiple control schemes. The creative writing, the tight, well thought-out cosmology and the hauntingly beautiful soundtrack all weigh in in making Continue? an important and memorable contemplation of the human condition in a game in 2013/14.
