    If elaborate construction is what you had in mind, check out the more scholarly - not to mention free - Tinkerbox. But for when you want fun firing catapults at dolls to knock bowling balls onto see-saws, Casey's your man.

    A fun and clever physics-based puzzler that isn't in the Angry Birds motif. Fans of Rube Goldberg-style games, especially the PC classic Incredible Machine, will especially love the game.

    Creates a nifty little sandbox to play around in, and other than some overly childish touches (which seem out of place, given how complicated the game can be), it's an excellent addition to the iPad game library, which grows more robust by the day.

    A true gem, and it is one of the few games that I as a parent can play with my kids and enjoy it with them. Multiple solutions, 70 challenging levels, great graphics and unparalleled online sharing functionality makes Casey's Contraptions a must buy for the iPad.

    It's the kind of game that doesn't punish you for failing, and leaves you with a great feeling of accomplishment when beating levels, especially the harder ones. A fun treat.

    Casey's Contraptions is a great puzzle game: it's user-friendly on the surface but it's also a big challenge for anyone who aims for the perfect score. It's a bit short on levels, but future updates and user-created stages will do the trick.

    Casey's Contraptions is an entertaining puzzler and a smart way to spend some time with your iPad. It's genuinely challenging in the later stages, and always a delight to figure out how to solve a puzzle and collect those three illusive stars.
