With a little patience and practice these challenges can be overcome, and that’s what makes Calculords a wonderful strategy game for all but the most ‘mathophobic’ players.

Calculords inventively combines math with collectible card gaming and old-school aesthetics to offer a deeply enjoyable experience that’s more than the sum of its parts.

By combining math and more traditional collectible card game mechanics, Calculords has stumbled upon a winning formula.

Calculords is an original, compelling, demanding collectible card game. The idea of using math as the core of the gameplay works very good and keeps the experience fresh and enjoyable, even when you have to face the same enemy again and again in order to gain experience and unlock the other villains.

It's a true testament to my enjoyment of the game that I kept at it, grinding my way through old battles time after time and coming up with new strategies along the way. The retro-centric charming visuals certainly don't hurt matters either if you're a fan of the style.

As a fun, charming, respectable little card game, however, it's equal to or greater than the money you can put into it.

Calculords is a fresh and interesting mix of ideas that all come together to create an exciting strategy game that's not quite like anything you've played before.

It's a unique twist on a familiar idea - it does make the whole back-and-forth card battling concept far more interesting, however.

Calculords doesn’t punish you for dicking around with the equations indefinitely. But, for the first time, I’m enjoying equations, and whoever is responsible for that has performed some degree of math magic.

No need forEasily the most entertaining game I've played on the iOs, just the right amount of learning curve, and above all - Entertaining!! No need for the in-app purchases, they just add to the fun of playing different cards and not required for beating the game. This game will only kick more butt after the release of multi-player and new levels. As it stands now, playing with my friends and spouse is such a kick, hats off to the game designers for bringing something new to the genre that isn't a flash in the pan, and huge amounts of replay value!
