    Dodge ever growing asteroids and lasers and collect powerups with fast and intuitave touch controls. Practice in easy mode, and than test your wits in tough as nails normal mode.

    But creator Zach Gage is clearly some kind of evil genius, because no sooner had we weaned ourself off his furiously addictive game than he laughed like a maniac and presented this update, which boasts Retina graphics, universal support and two new modes.

    The intensity of the game may not be for everyone, and the relatively small amount of content may annoy some, but for me I can think of few better ways to spend a dollar.

    While Bit Pilot, at face value, may not seem to have much to offer, the exact opposite is true; it's a deceptively-intense game with a lot of personality, fluid controls and a thought-provoking soundtrack.
