Easy to learn, hard to master is now schlocky ad-speak for multiplayer games, but Antihero lives up to that slogan and more, all while serving up a variety of play modes with style.

I'm usually not big on strategy games because I end up being terrible at them, but Antihero is definitely one I'll be keeping around. It has distinctive game mechanics that feel interesting and fresh, and the controls are optimized for touch. Plus, I get to live my dream of being a thief and having a guild all my own, so it's a keeper.

Antihero gets mobile board gaming in 2018 off to a really impressive start. It's fun, it's fast, and you're going to lose a good deal of time in its skullduggery and underhand activities.

There are many different possibilities for strategy lover on mobile platforms today, but we'll suggest Antihero as a peculiar choice for its depth and originality.

Ported from a PC game, Antihero has you building and running a thieves’ guild in Olde England. Taking turns with a computer or human foe, your job is to earn gold and lanterns, the two currencies you need to upgrade your thievery HQ and recruit new ne’er-do-wells to do your bidding. Splitting your time between scouting new premises, occupying useful buildings, burglary and assassination, you grow your criminal empire whilst craftily side-lining the opposition. The game’s multiple interlocking systems supplying a complex set of tactical options to exploit in your quest for infamy.

If you have the patience for Antihero, it can be a really rewarding experience. It’s a digital board game that provides a bunch of depth, and it also happens to look and feel pretty polished. The only real problem though is that game times can get really long, even when the results feel all but decided. This can make the game feel ill-suited for mobile, even though it is otherwise looks and feels immaculately made for it.

Antihero is pretending to be a board game, but it has nothing to offer to board game players. It's flat, scared of depth and gives no room for your own ideas in never-changing battles. You can find a lot of better digital board games on the market. But if you are not interested in table games and you are looking for something slightly different, Antihero has it.

Antihero reinvents the board game. I wasn't so sure about it at first - but after scenario 3 of the campaign - i was pretty hooked. AntiheroAntihero reinvents the board game. I wasn't so sure about it at first - but after scenario 3 of the campaign - i was pretty hooked. Antihero made me very comfortable with it's beautiful illustrations, simple interface and of course like all good games - the amount of strategy involved.

No game is ever the same (even if you repeat the scenario). There are 3 variations to it's difficulty levels (easy, normal and hard). And if you do pass the campaign - you get to play online or skirmish matches with the A.I.

Overall a very good game, looking forward to more updates.
