For the first T rated Disney game, High Voltage ("Hunter: The Reckoning") and TDK have done a magnificent job and this is easily their best effort to date.

Has great production values, is "spiritually" faithful to the look and feel of the famed Disney attraction, and is a very good action/puzzler to boot.

It's imaginative, it controls well, and the puzzles are solid and challenging without being repetitive. It's simply that a basic weakness in the engine makes The Haunted Mansion a far more frustrating experience than it really needs to be.

Sadly, the game falters during certain combat segments. While the control mechanics enable locking in on an attacker, at times, there are so many charging that its difficult to target a particular one.

netjakClearly, this is a game with an identity crisis. Kids cant play it because of the scary ghosts and more mature gamers will be turned off by the puzzles that would be ridiculously easy if not for the occasionally wonky controls. So whos left?

Although it has its shortcomings -- especially in its plot and combat -- it's definitely worth a play.

Starts by presenting a strong mood and setting, but the feeling wears off soon. The best ideas for rooms and puzzles seem to be used at the beginning of the game, and everything comes together more suitably in the first half of the game.
