Its gameplay is solid while it still holds true to the original Tetris concept and is addictively fun.
-
Nintendo PowerPromises a solid foundation of endless fun. [Sept 2002, p.164]
-
A total disappointment, as it does not live up to its prestigious heritage that other Tetris games had.
-
Much like the graphics, sound, multiplayer, and story (why bother with a story?) these additional game modes are merely a novelty and soon betray themselves as lacklustre additions bolted onto an admittedly great concept.
-
If you've never played a version of Tetris and are wondering what the fuss is about, you probably wouldn't understand it from this version. Old time fans will also be unimpressed.
-
I don't think I've ever been this unimpressed by a Tetris game in my entire life.
-
What is there that's new could be passed on, and the different options, excluding hold, create an all too easy Tetris. There are other Tetrises out there that do it better.
-
Even the most hardcore Tetris fans will be upset with the sloppy multiplayer and arcade modes and the lack of meaningful new gameplay.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyThe owners of the Tetris license have got to stop whoring it out. [Sept 2002, p.162]
-
Unfortunately, Tetris Worlds also introduces one particular change to the gameplay that renders the classic game all but unplayable.
