RyanK.Jul 12, 2005Uh, well the good things about "SONIC ADVENTURE 2 BATTLE" is that it has fun levels and some good effects. But it's poorly done when the camera angles are messy, the levels are somewhat very easy and the characters switch off and on for levels. A very average game, but it's probably better for a rental.

EnthasiusJul 9, 2002Ahhhh, hmmmmm, errrrr. This is sonic at his latest, and its good....its just that everything that made the first sonic adventure game great has either been taken away, or changed in some way that it doesn't feel right. I don't care if people found every character to similar on the first one, its the way Sonic has been from the beginning, and so it should have stayed.

May 5, 2011It's port to the NGC is certainly not flawless, but it's worth picking up if you don't have a DC. Pros: Multiplayer is as stellar is ever, having a variety of characters, stages, and power-ups to last all night; Chao Garden is addictive and has a lot of new features. Cons: The camera is worse on the NGC's controller; frequent framerate issues; some of the additional features feel worthless.

JiSJul 9, 2004Jared, how can you compare Star Fox to Sonic? The only thing I see in comparison is that they're both heroes. Star Fox sucked, because it was not about shooting. Sonic is above-average, however.

Aug 25, 2012It's one of the more enjoyable 3-D Sonic experiences. Pros: Enhanced multiplayer and Chao garden; the Sonic/Shadow stages remain the funnest aspect of the game; soundtrack; GBA capabilities. Cons: Its camera and controls are still at their quirkiest; trial-and-error gameplay verses easy boss battles; the Knuckles/Rogue and Tails/Eggman stages are more frustrating than fun; lots of glitches.

Feb 11, 2020The graphics aren’t better than the Dreamcast version: No shadow on the character, reflect problem and camera is awful.

Aug 8, 2023Disconnected from the Dreamcast original, this is still as average as the original. Only minimal content was added to the Chao Garden and 2 Player mode; two optional sections of the game I have no interest in. It also looks and runs marginally worse. Overall, a mediocre port of an already average game.

Oct 11, 2022An improvement and a backstep from its predecessor in many ways. It removed many of the bad gameplay styles, but somehow made the ones which remained (speed, mech and hunting) worse. A classic story nonetheless.

The graphics are flawless. Super-smooth, fast, seamless environments stretch on as far as the eye can see. While the GameCube should easily be able to do this, it's the frenetic pace that makes it most impressive.

Games RadarDespite the messy structure, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is still up there with the best of them, knocking most of the competition for six. And that's what counts. [GamesMaster Magazine]

If youve played or owned the Dreamcast version though, there isnt much new to do.
