    I really enjoyed the RE 1 remake on GCN. This is however a pretty good game for what "it" is. People like to compare so I am trying to show why I think so in my opinion. A lot of people don't like the old way but I am a visual nut, RE 1 remake is beautiful. This game is just shy of beautiful. Lots of jaggies and minus a lot of needed bumpmapping. Most things are drawn to look like I really enjoyed the RE 1 remake on GCN. This is however a pretty good game for what "it" is.     Resident Evil 4 will probably be the best game of the year by far and I thoroughly enjoyed it: from incredible visuals and panicky gameplay to it's ingenious buy/sell system, the game carefully keeps your excitement high by keeping you rooted in its world, through both limitation and innovation. Sublime.

    Best frickin game in the universe. The opening level is like none other than anything everdond.I mean how many games are there with a guy with a potato sack over his head and has a chainsaw.15 out of 10!!

    Best game i've ever played. Details like the lightning strikes and the blur effects near fires and lava and the screen getting wet during a boss really draw you in. Game of the Year.....Guaranteed.

    This game has made me a resident evil fan. I thought resident evil 4 would disappoint like the other recent RE games. I was so wrong, it astounds me now.

    I played all the Resident evil games, but this is absolutely the funnyest one!I've finished the game in 20 hours of effective playing in two days...Incredible game!

    This game is amazing. where else can you find such a combination of game play, atmosphere, and controls? yeah, it's got some scare moments, but those are because the game genuinely takes the player in, not because it insults your ego to jump.

Nothing is sweeter than droping a fool by cuttin him off at the knees, and then while standing over him, obliterating his skull with your riot gun. Sure some might say killing zombiesque people isn't as fun as goldeneye or other FPS's but the number of enemies you face is much greater and they don't stop comming. This is what happens when Link and Joanna Dark make whoopie!     I have played the Resident Evil games from the start. I've always loved them, but this game out does them all. It is the game that I feel should set the standard for all others. The graphics, story line, etc. all are wonderful!

    This game has spoiled me. Now nothing else I play seems to be as good; when I watch cutscenes in games now--even the best ones--they seem too jerky or unrealistic or too, well, un-interactive. When I play an FPS it doesn't give me the same satisfaction as blowing off a Ganado's head. When I look at character models in other games, they don't seem as impressive or as This game has spoiled me. Now nothing else I play seems to be as good; when I watch cutscenes in games now--even the best ones--they seem too jerky or unrealistic or too, well, un-interactive. This game is a revelation--the bosses are incredible (no mindless pump-them-full-of-lead-until-they-drop scenario here), the scenarios are breathtaking (from the first village assault to the cabin invasion to the first sniping mission to the mine cart ride), and the escort mission is actually fun (!). Nothing I've ever played before remotely compares to the RE4 final package. Thank you, RE4, for making me expect more out of video games from here onwards, no matter how unrealistic that may be. I have one concern, though: how is Capcom going to top this with RE5?… Expand

    This is the most addictive game I have ever played. Its like as soon as I get home the first thing I reach for is my gamecube controller, and as soon as I get started I cant stop. This is for sure one of the best games ever. I cant wait for Resident Evil 5!

    I HATE Resident Evil games, but this one? It completely and utterly blew me away. I've never been so gripped by a videogame in my life. Its not only a great game in its own right, but its also kicked all of the flaws out of the franchise. Long may it continue.

    This game is the best game ever created. I never did like Resident Evil games in the past but this game takes the cake. Whenever I die in this game I just want to keep playing no mattter how many times I die. There is also so many extra stuff in this game its crazy. When you beat the game you can start the game off with the revolver cannon gun and with alot of money you can upgrade this This game is the best game ever created.     My favorite, even of old games. This game brought be back to what video games should be. Its close to having a seemless interface, but doesn't try and pretend its not a video game, which is definately deserving of props. Some of the quick button mashing experiences really brought me back to the old days when games were about fun. Which is another thing: fun and amazing graphics! My favorite, even of old games. But what makes the graphics so real aren't the way they look in stills but the amazing detail spent on animation. The nuances of walking and crepping and screaming and speaking are amazing! it is quite obvious that they have done something beyond just motion capture. If you haven't gotten this game yet, you better hurry up, you are missing out on a lot!… Expand

    Very cool, it stessed the hell out of me, I love the chainsaw guy in the beggining.I think there was no need to make it this bloody because some of the images are just nasty. But still in a way the blood adds a little more horror to the game. If you think this game sucks I think you need to see a doctor.     This is probaly the best game (except for of course, ocarina of time) game I have ever played. The feel and and control are great, the sound and graphics are mind blowing and the story line is worthy of an oscar. The only thing I was disapointed in was the final boss battle and the lack of a strafe. Those are minor details. Do not wait for the ps2 version, buy a gamecube and buy this now!

    One of the best games I ever played. Definitely my favourite of game of 2005 ... and probably for years to come. Silent Hill may be scarier but when it comes to gameplay, storytelling, graphics and all the other things that makes a game great this little gem blows the competition out of the water.     Without a shadow of a doubt, this is one of the finest pieces of artwork ever created. It has a unique feel, is fun to play, and will most likely never see an equal. This is why the hell we play games in the first place. Nice work CAPCOM!

    There's nothing else to say: one of the funniest game in years. You will play it over and over again. Big action, no more stupid puzzles -even if there are some- or keys with spades or hearts, astonishing graphic, good storyline... and Leon is too cool! Capcom reinvented RE and did a great job (so why DMC 3 is so lame?). A must buy for ALL Gamecube players and RE fans.

    This is quite possibly the best action game ever made! Unique gamepay and non-stop white knuclke action. A must fro all Gamecube owners and Resident Evil fanatics. I played non stop for 3 days because I couldn't put the controller down. Awesome.

After being lured away from the Resident Evil universe by scarier series like Fatal Frame and Silent Hill, it's gratifying for me to see the originator back at the top of the heap. While the aforementioned games rely on creepy visuals and Gorgeous, gorgeous game. You will never have a gaming experience quite like it; you can expect other games mimicking every aspect of its gameplay. After being lured away from the Resident Evil universe by scarier series like Fatal Frame and Silent Hill, it's gratifying for me to see the originator back at the top of the heap. While the aforementioned games rely on creepy visuals and traditional "boo!" scares, RE4 skews to a more visceral scare tactic: it will make you think that everything--including the castle curtains--is trying to kill you. The story is intriguing and will make you play throughout the whole game just to see how it all turns out; the ending has a lot of loose ends, but that's forgivable because it's obvious that Capcom wanted to leave room for a sequel (though I can't imagine how they can top this one). Really, every negative I can think of seems like nitpicking--this game is really that good. Well worth getting a Gamecube for.… Expand

Resident Evil 4 is a very impressive, intense action/adventure/horror game. So, why an 8 and not a 10? Well...it wasn't scary enough. I think more of the series's Resident Evil 4 is an awesome game. It is extremely fun, and it is very intense and cool. The graphics are amazing, the targeting system is perfect, the bosses are really cool, the voice acting is very good as well. Resident Evil 4 is a very impressive, intense action/adventure/horror game. So, why an 8 and not a 10? Well...it wasn't scary enough. I think more of the series's traditional jump-scares should have been included. Similarly, the plot wears a little thin, where it seems like all you constantly do is rescue Ashley from tough situations. The ending also left a little to be desired. The game is so explosive and action-packed, that it's surprising that it ends on a whimper rather than with a bang. Those flaws aside, though, Resident Evil 4 is highly recommended, and, with a stronger story, could have been perfect.… Expand

    Best Resident Evil ever. With the new targeting it makes killing the zombies (well, they are not zombies) fun. The gameplay is 10 times funner and the game is not slow. You'll want to beat it in one seating. This is a must have.

    Blew me away. Saw it at a friends house. Went out the next day and bought a gamecube just for this. (have owned a cube before but sold it due to too many average games). Haven't turned my xbox on since- the mercenaries bonus games opened up at the end are awesome also. I also love how I can play through again with all the inventory from the first time round. There is so much replayability that its makes me smile. It took me 34 hrs to play through the first time- well worth every penny. And then there's Legend of Zelda coming also - SAY NO MORE !!!! My cheeks are hurting from smiling for 34hrs.… Expand

    Scared the crap out of me!!! Play this with the lights off and the sound up to get the best experience. Best game for the gamecube by far. It's not too difficult, but the story, graphics and gameplay make up for it. Must buy!

    Best game of its genre ever. Probably best Gamecube game until new Zelda. If this doesn't finally help Gamecube get some respect. Don't wait tne or more long months for a ps2 version which will inevitably look and probably feel inferior in some ways to this. Go get the GC version and be happy. Let this make you get a GC system, if you haven't already!

    I think this is the most realisic Resident Evil game yet. It has all new features that many RE players have been wanting since the first one. The Story mode and the game interaction of the game itself is unbelieveable. The different ways your enemys manipulate and dodge bullets and other weapons makes RE4 that much more of the game we've been waiting for. Arguably the best game ever made.

    I had no expectations at all when I first saw this game. I mean, yeah, it was eye-candy, but nothing more. With the game in my hand...it´s like butter melting in sunlight. I just can´t get enough of this game. I´m started my second round just after finishing my first one. Best graphical game this generation, 30 fps (some framedrops though), best sound over all Gamecube I had no expectations at all when I first saw this game.     Quite astounding, and almost certainly the best game on GameCube. A non-stop thrill ride of epic proportions. A giant stride forwards for the survival-horror genre, and probably the best reinvention of an existing franchise ever seen. Up there with Halo and San Andreas as one of the defining moments of the current generation of consoles. Do not miss.

    Cha ching. JackPot. This game is won eerie fun ride. Other Resident Evil games will never be the same because of the great aiming system of RE4. The zombie-like people are everywhere in this one. Spooky blasting good time.

    You really need to let yourself be killed in every horrible disgusting way in this game so you can see just how amazingly detailed and terrifying the creatures are.

    Simply put, if you're a fan of videogames, pick this one up. This is a genre-definer and then some. And to that guy below me who says it's too easy, well, the initial game's difficulty adjusts to your gameplay, so if you die a lot and your hit ratio's low, then of course you get an easier ride.     Wow! I was hoping RE4 would be good but I never expect it to be this good. Not only does it beat out RE2 as my favorite chapter in the series but it beats out every game released last year (shame it didn't come out two weeks earlier as it would have got GOTY) and every other 3rd person action game around. The gameplay is simply fantastic, taking the best parts of Resident Evil, The Wow! I was hoping RE4 would be good but I never expect it to be this good. Not only does it beat out RE2 as my favorite chapter in the series but it beats out every game released last year (shame it didn't come out two weeks earlier as it would have got GOTY) and every other 3rd person action game around. The gameplay is simply fantastic, taking the best parts of Resident Evil, The Devil May Cry, and Metal Gear Solid 3 and combining them to make some extrodinary. This even tops Ninja Gaiden, my previous choice for the best action game around. This is worth getting even if you've never like Resident Evil games. It's worth getting a Gamecube for.     Great graphics and story, but way to easy. What happend to hard games that took a long time to beat? This took me only 20 hours. Almost simplistic puzzles that don't really make the game feel like it should even be in the RE series. Cool game, but best game ever? not even close.

    J'ai 28 ans et je m'intéresse depuis toujours au jeux vidéo depuis la superbe console colécovision. Qui aurait pensé que 20 ans plus tard, nous aurions droit a ce niveau de graphisme?? I'M speechless, this game is the most georgeous thing i've ever seen...

    Anyone reading this, believe the hype. Seriously, just rent it if you don't belive all of the 10's. The control, atmosphere, everything. And I dont even like Resident Evil games. Get it?
