    A terrific prequel that looks fantastic and plays great. The game has plenty of action, puzzles, boss fights and creepy moments. But unfortunately, the item management system really slows down the pace. Without it, this could've been up there with "Resident Evil : Code Veronica". As it stands, I would rate this with an 8.3 out of 10.

    Not bad. It is a game that I find average in the Resident evil series. But I like it more than code veronica. Managing 2 characters has added a nice difference. But the lack of an item chest in the game causes you to do a lot of backtracking in the game. This is the annoying part of the game. And on "hard" difficulty, the game is really hard. Because the final boss is exaggeratedly difficult. It is also very difficult to escape from the boss. You are very likely to take damage. And the typewriters are far away in the game. If you don't save regularly, it can start from the save 1 hour ago. I died a lot in the last boss, it could have been done easier. Overall an enjoyable game. But for beginners, I recommend playing on normal difficulty first. It is unlike previous RE games. I think it is one of the hardest re games.… Expand

También se agradecen las mecánicas nuevas derivadas de manejar a 2 personajes a la vez (Billy y Rebecca), cada uno con sus propias habilidades. Sin embargo, tiene algunos fallos que le restan puntuación. Para empezar, el agravio comparativo con el propio Resident Evil Remake le perjudica mucho, ya que este último es mucho mejor en todo. Además, la gestión de los objetos es horrible, sustituyendo los clásicos baúles por un sistema que consiste en ir dejando tirados los objetos por el suelo de las habitaciones.     After playing RE Remake on the GameCube buyed this at the first second it was on sale, the game was excellent, enjoyed very much, however it was a little dissapointing, the characters (specially Billy) feel robotic, and that "throw everything on the floor, no item boxes" was not a very good idea...

    This game has a good mix of the classics while still bringing in new features (though I understand why not everyone would like them). This game can be fun and terrifying at times and the story and it's characters are interesting and develop well.

    The same situation happened to me with RE 3: Nemesis; RE 0 looks a lot like the remake of RE that I feel more like expansion. Even so, this title has new mechanics that speed up the gameplay, with fresh puzzles thanks to the mechanics when changing characters. For me its flaw is its plot, outside the clichés, wanting to change and "improve" the original story of the saga is a double-edged sword.

    The train aspect of this game was the best. The areas after the train were not as fun or creepy as the tightly packed train. It was also a nice side story to explain where some members of Bravo team were.

    C'est avec ce jeu que j'ai découvert la série en 2002. Musique, synopsis, ennemis, ambiance, graphismes, etc etc, je me suis régalé du début à la fin, et c'est pour moi le meilleur jeu de la saga (et très beau). ^^

    J'enlève 1 point pour la difficulté du gameplay (inventaire trop restreint et qui force à faire des aller-retour parfois juste pour déplacer les objets).     Nice graphics, nice characters, nice story, but sometimes this game is a little boring because you have to face the fact of repetitiveness. It is not a bad resident, but I prefer RE remake and RE 4.

    This chapter of Resident Evil's saga was the first that I completed. I had just got the Dolphin emulator, and I was going to start the Resident Evil saga. I wanted to start from the first chapter, but since Resident Evil 0 is set before, I decided to start with this.

    The story of RE 0 is very important as it provides an essential glimpse, of all that surrounds Umbrella's experiments,    This chapter of Resident Evil's saga was the first that I completed. I had just got the Dolphin emulator, and I was going to start the Resident Evil saga. I wanted to start from the first chapter, but since Resident Evil 0 is set before, I decided to start with this.

    The story of RE 0 is very important as it provides an essential glimpse, of all that surrounds Umbrella's experiments, the origins of the t-Virus, and shady characters who started the chain of events in the saga. However it is clear that although it is a prequel, was developed after the first chapter, because the plot loses coherence: Rebecca Chambers faces hell in RE 0, but in the first chapter seems as if nothing has happened, and as if she did not know anything about what's going on. It just seems a bit strange.

    The gameplay of RE 0 is quite similar to that of the classic chapters of the saga. Ammunitions, weapons, medical herbs, all available to the player to face a crowd of zombies and terrible biological weapons. I must also admit that the gameplay of RE 0 is much easier than the other chapters: ammunitions are quite abundant, and also medical herbs are quite common to find. Another reason because this chapter is easier is the fact that you can use two characters; sometimes you can bring a companion with you, or you can instantly change the use of protagonist, playing as Rebecca or Billy. I liked this thing and it works fine, but inevitably has simplified the difficulty. Only battles against bosses are quite hard. Another element much weaker than other chapters is the ability to scare, that in RE 0 is not high. Well, the game manages to scare, but not as much as it should. The puzzles are nice and quite complex, but not as perfect as those in the first chapter. Must be careful: if you want to start with this chapter and you get used to the easier gameplay of RE 0, then you will find difficulty in dealing with the much more complex and difficult gameplay of the first chapter on GameCube. It happened to me.

    Well, the graphics of RE 0 is spectacular, being based on the same graphics engine used for the remake of the first Resident Evil. I liked also the soundtrack. Performance with the emulator are rather good, but the game requires an in-depth setting to stabilize the framerate.

    No doubt that Resident Evil 0 is an horror game that is worth to be played. Very important to the plot, definitely. However, should not expect a chapter like the others, because it is very easy and not very scary.    … Expand

    This game is so amazing, well polished, great level design, good scary and tensional moments, puzzles for the most part are great. This game deserves a better rating than this. I don't understand why the most critics are harsh on this game.     This game is the most boring resident evil game ever. Lame story, stupid puzzles, dull environments and settings, not fun, and not interesting. So disappointing and it doesn't deserve that high score it got.

    I've been gaming for over 20 YEARS and I can appreciate what each of the Resident Evil games in the series has to offer but my favorite is RE Zero.

    If you like to be CHALLENGED mentally then prepare for a hard core game that's not affected by recent gaming trends such as regenerating health, unlimited inventory space & glowing arrows that tell you where to go. This takes the authentic Resident Evil with every room being a puzzle & adds in a few features that make it accessible but not easy.

    You play each area as an ongoing puzzle that you have to solve and unlock. You're limited in how much both characters can carry at one time which causes you to plan and think & simulates real life better. You can choose to drop any item wherever you're standing and it will stay there until you return. Each area has puzzles that require your two controllable characters to interact to get through. Maybe the guy picked up something you need and so he drops it to you using an elevator as an example.

    The dynamic of controlling two characters with different abilities and both with limited inventory space and ammo to solve puzzles makes for a very mentally challenging experience. Zero is better than the first RE remake because you can leave inventory when you need to pick something up. The first one really is ridiculous because you have to find storage containers.

    BETTER THAN RE4, RE5 & RE6?
    The new ones are cool for their action & visual flair. They're definitely more about creating a 3D atmosphere but they cater towards people with short attention spans that want exciting set pieces like in a movie. RE5 was for cooperative play, RE6 was trying to be a movie, RE4 is closest to what RE Zero is, focusing on inventory management & puzzles. Be warned though RE Zero is has real puzzles like you see on old school games like Myst.

    What makes ZERO awesome is it's scarier because you're never overpowered. You're always on the losing side when fighting monsters so the game always has a pressure that doesn't let up. If you want a casual game with the Resident Evil themes then 4 is the best and many agree. If you want more of the hard core experience RE was originally & like 4 then I recommend trying ZERO. It's a great game for those that find thinking not boring & like a challenge

    This game is in my top 30 must have Gamecube games & I save a brand new one unopened because I respect it that much. It's really a great style of game that you're probably not going to experience elsewhere or in the near future so I recommend picking it up    … Expand

I always felt this was a game that didn't need to be made,the story was convoluted,I didn't like the drop and swap item mechanic or swapping between characters at times,the visuals were good but there was a blandness about it,everything seemed brownish yellow.IMO it would have been better if the game just stared Billy,trying to tie in Bravo team just has you asking more questions,in fact im surprised there wasn't a scene at the end of RE0 where Rebecca losses her memory as she never talks about the events of Zero ever again… Expand

    I only have a couple of problem with this game.But apart from that, it's solid. You no longer have to shoot a zombie 8 times with a pistol to kill it. The puzzles are good, and it portrays the gloomy nature very well. The 2 character aspect was pretty cool. But I have some problems. The inventory is too small, and WHY THE HELL DID THEY GET RID OF THE ITEM BOXES? But one big problem I haveI only have a couple of problem with this game.But apart from that, it's solid.     The same old formula make this game brilliant G4TV, with great graphics, sounds, gameplay and with the possibility to control two characters at the same time makes the game more difficult and better.

    Resident Evil 0 is one of the best games that has been released for the Nintendo GameCube. In terms of graphics, I would put Resident Evil in top 25 best games for GameCube and it should be played at night to see how excellent the graphics are. The controls, music and story are good but I like unlocking the revolver by playing the minigame Leech Hunters.

    I absolutely loved it. Fantastic graphics. Great new creature designs, and some of the best leads the series has had together at the same time. Billy and Rebecca work very well together and the new partner system was fun to play with. Many fans didn't really like the partner swapping system, but I though it breathed some fresh air into the series. Overall: One of my favorites of the seriesI absolutely loved it. Fantastic graphics.     Billy's character was so one-dimensional to me. Rebecca on the other hand, was quite impressive in the way that she was so fragile and naive (keeping in mind that she's only about 18 in the game). The controls are awful for the whole partner system. I'd love to see this re-released as a 2-Player game.

    Hm, while not as great as other entries, this game is still worthwhile. Not the best RE by any means, but certaily better than most of them.
    Graphics look good, sounds good. It's a good game.

    Great gameplay and fantastic graphics to boot. The simultaneous control adds a new dimension to Resident Evil, with two person puzzles and gameplay being a breath of fresh air. This game doesn't lose any of the atmosphere of previous Resident Evil games, either, and the brilliant pre-rendered graphics only add to this.

It added to the overall creepiness of the game. Controlling 2 characters was a welcome addition but I Resident Evil 0 lends itself to some truly breathtaking graphics due to the trademark fixed camera angles the series has been known for. I had to stop plenty of times and take in the surroundings. The Gamecube showcases alot of things in this game. I really enjoyed the music in this game. It added to the overall creepiness of the game. Controlling 2 characters was a welcome addition but I think they utterly failed with the inventory system by taking away the item boxes. It was great to be able to just "drop" an item (which is actually more realistic) but good luck organizing your items and taking them with you as the game progresses: it becomes a real chore due to the lack of inventory space available. While the plot is nothing earth shattering, it is done in typical Resident Evil fashion. 10% plot - 90% everything else. The interaction between Billy and Rebecca just left me not caring as there was never anything of interest being discussed. It was always a flashback here or a tangent there, and it never went anywhere or did anything to impress me. The back story behind the Progenitor Virus is located within this game so any true fan to the series has to play it.… Expand
