The most important aspect of the game, its gameplay, was solid and felt just about right. Although the environments can be sparse in areas they're overall pretty nice to look at as you tear through the gears in each course.
-
Scores with a handful of options and hardcore appeal, but needs more punch.
-
Play MagazineIt fails to add up to a truly compelling racer, lacking the graphical polish, deeply sorted physics and versimilitude of McRae. [July 2003, p.79]
-
Nintendo PowerControls are responsive but touchy. [May 2003, p.139]
-
It's the Citroen Saxo of rally titles - small, well rounded and not horrible to look at, but it is pretty horrible to drive, it sounds like a chainsaw dragged over sand paper and the sales guy is going to have his work cut out selling it.
-
A well-meaning title that seems to have all the necessary ingredients, but its key features simply feel too underdeveloped to be any good.
