The gameplay and severely limited amount of dialogue being heard weren’t the best, but the plot, story, soundtrack, and character development were FANTASTIC. The soundtrack in this game is beautiful and criminally underrated. This game is severely underrated and sadly obscure, in fact the whole Medabots franchise is obscure and criminally underrated. This video game is an underrated gem. The only major problems with this game were the underwhelming gameplay, the dated graphics, the shoddy camerawork (that gets annoying at times, but not so bad once you get used to it), the lack of dialogue being heard, and the extremely slow-paced storytelling. But the wonderful music, fantastic story, the character depictions, portrayals, and voices (I honestly prefer the character depictions, portrayals, and voices over how all the characters were depicted, portrayed, and sounded in the show), the fantastic character development, great characters with colorful personalities, the antagonists, the funny lighthearted humor, character conflicts, great drama, some of the characters’ epic voices (especially Metabee’s voice) and voice casting (especially Metabee’s voice actor), and the outstanding and unexpected plot twist all make up for that. It's cool to see Medabots in gen 6 console graphics but the controls can be difficult and some of the levels are awful. On the other hand some of the levels are a lot of fun.

The game falls short in entertainment and from the perspective of the story when compared to the GBA game. An open world similar to the anime would have put this game over the top. However, if you know how to

However, if you know how to play this game and meda battle properly you will still enjoy this game despite it's limitations and downsides.

It's far from the worst Gamecube games I played but is mildly mediocre. If you were a fan of the anime and are willing to spend time on this for the sake of nostalgia you will get something positive out of it.

The story sequences are slow-paced and the camera doesn't always show the best view of the battle, but the action between bots can get pretty intense. [Feb 2004, p.150]
  2. The premise may be rather cute, but the game is certainly not. Medabots Infinity exhibits aggravating gameplay and presents an imprecise camera, and the results are anything but fun.

Unfortunately the thing that matters the most, the gameplay, is seriously unbalanced resulting in a game that is all too easy at times and unnecessarily frustrating at others.
