Mario makes any sport better, even baseball. It has enough challenge for experienced gamers, yet can be easy for beginners. The story mode is alright but it could have been better.

Memories are flooding back. I LOVE THIS GAME!!!! There was plenty of variation to it, and every game was different. The roster of characters, the stadiums, and everything else was amazing.

I LOVE playing this game and it is very entertaining! The game's gameplay is amazing and the graphics are smooth. But mario sport games can get repetitive and annoying and so does this one but it is still good.

Very good game in my opinion. Fielding and baserunning are terrible though. Doesn't much depth but if you don't care about that stuff, buy it.

Wow, when i picked this up i thought it would be good but i didnt know it was gonna be THAT good. If you're looking for a hardcore nintendo type baseball game then you need to go someplace else, but if you're looking for just plain ol fun..this is the game to have. Lot ofs mini games keeps me coming back after completing the Challenge mode. Fun game so far. Lots of minigames and the characters' strengths makes it even more interesting.

Really good batting and pitching. Baserunning and Fielding was a little difficult at first, but I'm a pretty good gamer so it might not be so easy for you.

THIS is a good game! I know it sounds ridicious, but this is one of the best looking games on the gamecube. Everything is really nice. I wish there were a few more options as far as pitching (change up and fastball? really?) but this is so damn fun. That said, I've mainly heard bad things about the wii one. Be cautious about its would-be sequel.

Mario adds baseball to the many sports he’s played, and it might be his best! Like the other GameCube Mario sports games, there is an opening cutscene which is entertaining to watch. Like the other GameCube Mario sports games, there is an opening cutscene which is entertaining to watch. At the time this came out, the character selection was the best in any Mario spin-off game. You have the main characters as captains and the team players are all unique and different. Some characters have chemistry with each other which makes you think about who to put on your team. The number of stadiums is a bit low with only six, but at least they are all distinct from one another. The core gameplay is really solid, a bit slow paced but feels totally fine. There is a feature called star skills which needs to charge up but when it does it allows you to do a special throw and it’s a good way to freshen things up. Anyone can use them but the captains have their own unique abilities like Mario’s fireball and DK’s banana ball. This game includes a story mode where you pick one of five team captains and take on the rest of them leading up to Bowser’s team. It’s pretty decent and you’ll have to play through it to unlock everything. The graphics looked quite good for the GameCube at the time. The soundtrack is awesome with many fun tunes, and the menu theme is a freakin banger! There is a “Toy Field” mode where four players take turns batting and earn coins depending what space you hit, and it’s strangely addicting! Each stadium has it’s own corresponding minigame including bob omb derby, chain chomp sprint and star dash. All of them are super fun to play! Once again, Mario makes a basic sport so much more fun and this one completely nailed it with so many different characters and features! Expand

A standout party game for GameCube that has a stellar single player mode. Every headline character feels unique when either hitting or pitching, and the supporting cast also shines depending on how to use them

The game has some great mechanics and level design. The chemistry between characters is a great addition and can make a difference when putting your team together. On top of that

The game has some great mechanics and level design. The chemistry between characters is a great addition and can make a difference when putting your team together. On top of that the different upgrades for players is fun and fits right into the Mario sports style. The different ballparks makes every stadium feel unique without being distracting, you actually want to work on your skills to take full advantage of the parks.

The greatest pro is the single player with multiple hours of replay-ability especially if you play as every character. There is also no reusage of dialogue which makes every play through feel unique as you try to unlock new characters

The only con would be some customizable options like team name, uniforms, and maybe the mini games, but those are not a distraction to the main game

  1. Sick of the MLB? Let the legendary plumber take your troubles away with this challenging baseball title, complete with the good-old Nintendo charm.
  2. The game contains all the elements to expect from a Ninty sport title; colourful graphics, classic Nintendo tunes and characters, addictive gameplay and simple fun.

The controls and performance are too unreliable for non-baseball fans to make this a hit a la Mario Kart, and true fans just won't be satisfied by the troublesome fielding.
