Mario Party 6 is my favorite Mario Party I have played for 2 reasons. 1. It had the day and night mechanic which really changes up the style of the game depending on which board your playing on. 2. It has everything that made Mario Party 4 good and then some. Overall if anyone has a Game Cube or a Wii please stop what your doing and get this game.

This is another great Mario Party game. The graphics are good for GameCube. The minigames are fun. The character selection I like. The boards are awesome! This was my favourite Mario Party at the time it came out and you should go and pick up this game.

Mario Party 6 did perfect at balancing the fun with skill, and fixing the past mistakes of the Mario Party series, and with an extra mic mechanic Mario Party 6 is the one Mario Party game to be!

What happened to Mario Party? The first game was decent, and the others (save for this) are mediocre. This one is pathetic. The lack of entertainment is what kills this title. Faster and a bit more complex than its predecessor, MP6 mantains the unpredictability and the easy and fun mini-games. Pick up some pals and ENJOY!

My whole family loves it. It is the best one yet. Love the mini game. We didn't care for 5 much. We have them all but 6 if far the best on yet.

The night and day feature, plus the star bank, and the different board features rock. The orbs are put to better use in this verison than 5. My greatest rave though is the quicker loading time and time between screens. It's more real time and wow do the graphics jump off the screen!

The best of the best! A videogame must be funny, and it is really funny with friends. 6 adds more minigames, microphone option, day-night changing,... If you have a GC and some friends to play with, just buy it!!

This game is mediocre. there's no denying it. the game has some good points, but we've seen it before. this game holds nothing new and revolutionary. just a decent game that is to be enjoyed with a couple friends for a couple hours.

I have to admit this is a really good game when it comes to a family game night, but anything else is just a little boring. The star bank, the day and night system is absolutely creative if you think about it, but the boards could have been a bit bigger.

I love this Mario Party game so much. I played it a lot with my youngest brother, and there are lots of minigames to play! With 6 boards, 11 characters, and amazing gameplay, this might as well be the Gamecube's best Mario Party game.

Mario Party 6 only has one problem, complex minigames well besides that this game is perfect and was a great add on to Mario Party 5 but Mario Party 6 is my favorite though.

Not as good as Mario Party 5 but still is phenomenal. Most of the minigames had brand new ideas. I love this game and it improved the capsule gimmick and added a new one! The day and night system! The only flaw I can find in this game is the story, the story was not thought out well.

When I first saw this game I thought it was...okay, but once I played it...it was one of the best gamecube games ever. 4.5/5 of the minigames are amazing, and the boards have way more detail and thought than 5. THE GameCube Mario Party of choice here, it takes everything good from Mario Party 4 and makes it a darn sight better, with some of the best board designs the series has ever seen and a new rule that manages to get the mix between not feeling pointless and not feeling too gimmicky.

That new rule is the day and night rule, which means that the first three turns take place in daytime, then the next three turns take place at night, then the next three turns take place at daytime, and so on. This addition is not merely for aesthetic purposes, but actually changes certain attributes on the board you choose, such as star prices, shop prices and tweaking the happening spaces in certain ways.
Overall, this is as good as Mario Party gets, even though there are still annoying things you have to put up with [i'm looking at you, microphone mode]. Also mini-games are good, but thats obvious, right?

There are also a lot of side modes, including Solo Cruise (if you have nobody to play with), and Mic Mode. My favourite side mode has to be Speak Up - it is set up just like a game show and has a variety of different types of questions.

As you can see, there is A LOT of content in this game, but none of it feels like filler. It is a great party game which will entertain both lone players and big groups for hours!

Okay now this has to be my favourite Mario Party game of all time. The main gimmick for this one is the day and night cycle, and it drastically changes up the boards depending on the time of day. It switches from day to night consistently every five turns so you can plan your route ahead to try and get the most stars. Not only is this system used for boards, but even minigames have it and it affects the way they are played! The character roster is the same as the previous title besides Toadette who is added as an unlockable character which is nice. We have six main boards as well as three boards for solo mode which may be the most there have been in one game. This was the first game where every board plays differently which was a great idea to freshen things up a little. For example, we have Faire Square where the star always stays in the same spot and at night the price will change, and there is Clockwork Castle where you have to chase DK around to buy a star from him, but at night DK will switch with Bowser and you want to try and avoid him or he will steal from you. Mic minigames were introduced here, while they weren’t the best minigames, it was a neat experiment and they worked pretty well. As usual, the minigame selection is a blast! Some stand out ones include Snow Whirled, What Goes Up, and Catch You Letter. This game stands out as the number one best game in the Mario Party series, and if you are looking to buy only one Mario Party game for the GameCube today, I would suggest you pick this one! Expand

This game, although overrated, is still a great multiplayer experience and after the mediocre Mario Party 5, they took out the garbage (60% of the game), and replaced it with a fun day and night mechanic that never feels gimmicky.

my personal favorite Mario party game, I love the sun and moon mechanic, it's simple but adds a nice level of detail to the game. this game adds so much fun stuff that's small but improves the usual Mario Party formula immensely, I love every mini game in this one, they're all incredibly fun to play.

Probably arguably the most important Mario party game. It is game changing and maybe even revolutionary for the genre it is defining. Feeling somewhat bland against some of its predecessors, Mario Party 6's games come off as lacking in skill, not to mention creativity; the coating may look different, but the core concepts are incredibly repetitive. [Feb 2005, p.106]
  3. Offers too much tedium and not nearly enough fun, mic or no mic.
