There’s a lot of game to explore in Driven if you’re dedicated; just be prepared for a steep learning curve.

Not quite an ambitious failure, and not a qualified success either, the game pays the price for falling between the stools of arcade adventurousness and simulation seriousness.
  3. A racing game that is easy to control but extremely difficult.
  4. When it comes down to it all, the game plays true to the film. Boring, clichéd, sometimes grimace inducing and deeply, deeply average.
  5. The game is just too short with so-so graphics and questionable handling.
  6. Nintendo Power

Driving is surprisingly manageable for an open-wheel racer, and that could get your engine running if you're a car buff or arcade racing fan. [May 2002, p.132]
  7. Driven is a solid, if not somewhat boring, racing game that fails to innovate or add any sense of entertainment not already found in previous racing games.
  8. Driven's acceleration feels sluggish as it tries to drag the combined weight of unresponsive AI, strange physics, overly unforgiving challenges and pedestrian multiplayer modes.

Driven was the first GCN game I got that didn't really have anything going for it. It didn't stand above F1 and racing titles of Gen 5 that IDriven was the first GCN game I got that didn't really have anything going for it. It didn't stand above F1 and racing titles of Gen 5 that I had on PS1.

Racing is a crowded space and it's seen many mediocre games in it's genre. This one limbos right under that.

I give it a 4 because it's a gen 6 game. It doesn't have groundbreaking graphics but it doesn't have graphics or sound of a gen 5 game.

Driven was a bargain bin filler in the 2000s. Bargains are great if you get good value for your buck sadly it's not the case here.

This is a game for either a person who is collecting EVERY Gamecube game or a person that is collecting EVERY gen 6 or GCN racing game.
