Replicating speed is always a goal for racing games and ATV 2 meets the challenge. Fast is fast, especially with the better ATV’s, and the blurring effect during boost use really does bring that sense of speed home.

Like "SSX Tricky," ATV2 relies on tight playability to keep your mind off the averageness of the visuals. The only real moan is that crashes lack any sort of bone-jarring impact.

It’s much easier to do some of the crazier tricks here where you don’t have to worry about some other psycho rider knocking you off of your ride!

Despite its overall graphic luster and enjoyable gameplay, QPR2 is relatively short on variety, and, as such, woefully short on shelf life, particularly for enthusiasts in possession of "ATV: Offroad Fury 2" for the PS2.

Particularly so if you can live with the sloppy stunt controls, the game provides a balanced and generally enjoyable experience.

The first play through is genuinely enjoyable and the two-player option just about as good as it gets. Given the number of bikes on the track it's a shame that a four-player option wasn't included.

Despite its similarities to other extreme-type racers, it offers enough of a difference in physics and control to provide a fresh experience.

What developer Climax has produced here is a simple, accessible racing game with modest goals that it, for the most part, accomplishes.

In terms of performance, the game fares better than the PS2 version, with a fairly consistent frame rate that conveys a decent sense of speed. The game occasionally slows down, but only when the screen is overpopulated with racers.

The novelty of kicking your friends from their bike in the heat of a race won't last forever, so once that aspect of the fun wears off so does any urge to hunker down to a night of ATV Quad Power Racing 2.

Jul 25, 2016This game is amazing and aged very well. Sure, there is so minor mistakes but everything else is amazing and very addicting. This game is very decent.
