Nintendo PowerA slate of 14 unlockable minigames gives you a break from the adrenaline-infused action. [Jan 2005, p.138]
-
A complete and total rip off of "Metal Slug." But we mean that in a good way.
-
Alien Hominids control scheme doesn't allow for players to fire diagonally. Also, the console version is intended for 2 players--single player games are frustratingly hard due to the cheap AI.

Edge MagazineAlien Hominid is just about an essential title for anyone who's caught themselves yearning for a forgotten past, or to any young blood wondering what people mean when they say they don't make them like they used to. [Jan 2005, p.97]
-
A great package. A little quirky and rough around the edges, it survives on originality, genuinely funny content and an enormous challenge.
-
With a great style taken directly from the pages of a deranged art student's sketchbook and fun if occasionally frustrating action to boot, this little alien proves that you don't need a big, fancy ship to invade a home console.
