  1. Unfortunately, the biggest drawback to 18 Wheeler is the game life. This game is short. Really short.
  2. It's the same old game, and a short one at that.
  3. 68
Fun for a few minutes but gets played out all too quickly.

Quite and ugly game. There's more pop-up than a toaster, and the music is unappealing to anyone without a straw hat. [Apr 2002, p.79]
  5. Nintendo Power

Most players will complete all four races within an hour or two. [Mar 2002, p.133]

Do yourself a favor and head down to your local arcade if you want to play some 18 Wheeler. [May 2002, p.112]
  7. On the GameCube though, without adding any more to the game such as an extra character or stage, this seems a pretty pointless release of an average game.
  8. 50
If you're considering paying $50 for an hour's worth of racing -- without the added benefit of the arcade cabinet, horn, and steering wheel, I might add -- the novelty factor quickly runs dry.
  9. Dated graphics, shallow gameplay and a playing time of about 40 minutes to an hour for the main arcade mode are just some of the reasons to avoid wasting your money on this.
  10. When the game can be completed in a hour or two, a sense of not getting your money's worth will likely be the impending feeling.
  11. Now, a game that was less than impressive on the Dreamcast is even less so when presented on the technically superior GameCube.
  12. The game at home offers nothing but a quick thrill, albeit a rather cheap one.
  13. Like a teenager hooking up with a lady. It’s fun while it lasts, but it doesn’t last long!
  14. Runs out of gas quickly and has all the personality of a pair of dirty mud flaps.
  15. 40
And let’s not forget the "What th-?!" reaction you'll have when you complete the fourth level and the game’s credits start rolling!
  16. The simple, straightforward nature of gameplay is over far too quickly and the appealing aspect of smashing into buildings and cars is largely neglected.

EIGHTEEN WHEELER!!! Ba ba dum da dum da dum. That intro song kinda jamming. IDK MAYN should you play it should you not? Do you like trucks? Do you like arcade checkpoint racing? Do you like over the top satisfying carnage like any of the Burnout games. Ok well picture burnout but you're in semi trucks. And there is a incredibly small rooster of trucks to choose from and an even smaller list of tracks to race/destroy thing on. I will admit playing this is a lot of nostalgia but the game lacks any long term substance. Its something you'll pick up for 20-30mins have a laugh as you slam into other cars with your semi or race a friend in local split screen for fun but then you'll be ready for the next thing. Short and sweet but not a lot of substance.
