Very good 3-D racing engine for a GBA game. Nice & smooth, which is an important feature some developers couldn't manage initially with 3-D racers. The Top Gear series has never been known for having any depth to speak of, so no surprises here. This is one of the better racers on this system. Maybe not the best GBA racer, but it's better than most others, particularly any that Very good 3-D racing engine for a GBA game.

  1. When the core gameplay is so obviously hamstrung by fundamental design issues, there's no real incentive to get stuck into the meat of the game, and thus the chances of being able to enjoy the two-player link mode disappear into the ether.
  2. Manages to blend all the right elements of control, graphics and sound into a package that fits in the palm of your hand while acting like a game fit for a console.

Certainly one of the best racing titles for the system, even if there are no foolish spectators to mow down every time you slide a bit too widely around a curve.
