Aside from the opening song and underlying plot there isnt much to do with the Simpsons.
-
But it's both the lack of character and lack of cartridge save that hurt the product; without Simpsons catchphrases, it just feels like the Simpsons license was slapped onto an existing game design (which it was, honestly).
-
Theres something about driving around Springfield as Grounds Keeper Willie. Hes mega-awesome and anyone who disagrees is just lying to themselves.
-
Almost fun enough, but overall too shallow to be worth a solid purchase to anyone.
-
Pocket GamesTo quote Kent Brockman: "Forgive us if we don't shed a tear when this puppy is put to sleep." [Fall 2003, p.55]
-
The main problem with The Simpsons: Road Rage isn't that the graphics are ugly, but rather that The Simpsons license isn't integrated deeply enough into the game.
-
The Simpsons Road Rage for GBA is annoying, jumbled and (if he were dead!!) would make Matt Groenig roll in his grave.
-
Nintendo PowerThe game loses quite a bit in the translation... However, the new plow-down-everything Performance mode is a fun addition. [Sept 2003, p.137]
-
The Simpsons can only get this game's engine started. To get it moving along, it'll need something else that just can't be found in the Game Boy Advance version.
-
Cheat Code CentralI suggest we change the name of the game to "Crazy Taxi 2: Featuring Sprites That Resemble Characters From The Simpsons."
-
A painfully average portable that offers nothing but ugly graphics and stale gameplay.
-
A weak conversion of what was arguably a middling title to begin with. Though it starts off fast and smooth, the action quickly becomes touch and "d'oh."
-
It's not that Road Rage is terrible, as much as it is unintuitive and frustrating. You can see the potential for something better, but it just never comes into being.
-
Game InformerIt's virtually void of driving freedom - the map blows. It has no trademark Simpsons charm, either. The gameplay is apocalyptically bad. [Aug 2003, p.104]
