An entertaining day, and a day in which you'll learn the full story of The Hobbit. But still, just a day. It needed to be much longer, and much far more difficult. [Advance]
-
For children the Hobbit offers hours of fun with easy to learn controls and simple puzzles, as for adults the game can become slightly condescending with its simplicity.
-
Nintendo PowerReluctant hero Bilbo Baggins is slow to swing his walking stick, making battles more difficult than they should be, but the overall game play and control are very solid. [Dec 2003, p.150]
-
Pocket GamesThe game is never very exciting. Moments of tension are few and far between, and the action never really heats up enough to draw the player into the world of Middle-earth. [Spring 2004, p.49]
-
It's an enjoyable time, but most of the battles and quests feel rather trivial. However the art and sound, while at times a bit disjointed were certainly well thought-out and flesh out your little hobbit world quite nicely.
-
The Hobbit is not a bad game, or a glitchy game. It's just not a particularly inspired game.
