The graphics in this miniature version do the game perfect justice.
-
So good that it will easily make diehard pocket fighters forget all about the great genre titles on the short-lived Neo Geo Pocket Color.
-
The icing on the cake though is the two-player link-up game...its fantastic! Believe us when we say that StreetFighter has never been this playable or fun you simply have to own it!
-
A picture perfect port of what should be the most tired game in the business, somehow having it portable again, especially this well done, is a joy to fans everywhere.
-
The ultimate version of the classic one-on-one fighting game.
-
More of an upgrade than a port of a classic arcade game. There are many new features, characters and stages that weren't in the original version.
-
It's common knowledge that Dame Nostalgia can be a cruel mistress. Her whip has lashed us more than we care to admit, and having our rose-tinted specs beaten off us one more time, especially in this instance, would be potentially devastating. Luckily, this version of Street Fighter is great. Storming, even.
-
The gameplay is as responsive and rewarding as ever, and the iconic characters remain fresh.
-
The only thing I can complain about is the sound, but the added features and modes definitely make this worthy of a purchase in my books.
-
Its a near-perfect conversion that makes up for the loss of a couple of action buttons.
-
The port went over smoothly in most all areas except controls, as the four button configuration and layout just doesn't cut it 100%.
-
Pocket GamesThe best handheld fighting game currently available. [Winter 2001, p.40]
-
Technique will always get you further than random button mashing. [GamesMaster]
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyThe first fighter I have ever felt truly comfortable playing on a portable. [Nov 2001, p.222]
-
Still a high-quality brawler after all these years. Just dont expect much that's new.
-
If anything, Revival did more to ruin my memories of the old Street Fighter games, because I don't ever remember playing a Street Fighter title with controls as poor as this one.
-
But the bug is there, so minus fifty points, because no game should be shipped in this condition. Get SFA3 instead.
