The graphics in this miniature version do the game perfect justice.

So good that it will easily make diehard pocket fighters forget all about the great genre titles on the short-lived Neo Geo Pocket Color.
  3. The icing on the cake though is the two-player link-up game...it’s fantastic! Believe us when we say that StreetFighter has never been this playable or fun – you simply have to own it!

A picture perfect port of what should be the most tired game in the business, somehow having it portable again, especially this well done, is a joy to fans everywhere.
  5. The ultimate version of the classic one-on-one fighting game.
  6. More of an upgrade than a port of a classic arcade game. There are many new features, characters and stages that weren't in the original version.

It's common knowledge that Dame Nostalgia can be a cruel mistress. Her whip has lashed us more than we care to admit, and having our rose-tinted specs beaten off us one more time, especially in this instance, would be potentially devastating. Luckily, this version of Street Fighter is great. Storming, even.
  8. The gameplay is as responsive and rewarding as ever, and the iconic characters remain fresh.
  9. The only thing I can complain about is the sound, but the added features and modes definitely make this worthy of a purchase in my books.
  10. It’s a near-perfect conversion that makes up for the loss of a couple of action buttons.

The port went over smoothly in most all areas except controls, as the four button configuration and layout just doesn't cut it 100%.

The best handheld fighting game currently available. [Winter 2001, p.40]
  13. Technique will always get you further than random button mashing. [GamesMaster]

The first fighter I have ever felt truly comfortable playing on a portable. [Nov 2001, p.222]
  15. Still a high-quality brawler after all these years. Just don’t expect much that's new.
  16. If anything, Revival did more to ruin my memories of the old Street Fighter games, because I don't ever remember playing a Street Fighter title with controls as poor as this one.

But the bug is there, so minus fifty points, because no game should be shipped in this condition. Get SFA3 instead.
