Nice controls. Feels easy - but this is a testament to how close it is to the dreamcast version (my skills on the DC game have ported across to the GBA version). I was very impressed by how this was squeezed onto the GBA.

  1. The final level is too hard and the controls not fully reliable, and graphic-wise, size of course matters. But the cutesy, candy-colored "femininity" and gameplay remain.

Polish and beauty is the essence of ULALA, and while this conversion is superb, it's simply not made for the small screen. It's large, loud and beautiful, and that's how it should be. [Oct 2003, p.103]
  3. The gameplay is far too limited to be played for long stretches of time, but it's a nice way to kill a half hour here and there.
