Nintendo PowerThe game employs more searching and item-use than its predecessor, but the focus is still on frantic fighting. [Sept 2003, p.140]
-
It does a good job of keeping in the spirit of the film's storybook setting, and its quality graphics won't disappoint. However, platform players will find it too short and will be disappointed in the lack of puzzles and overall challenge in the game's levels.
-
Each of the games six levels hosts unique enemy designs and engaging boss battles that make the game worth playing. Unfortunately, Shrek: Reekin Havocs extremely short playing time prevents any recommendation of a purchase.
-
The action remains fun and challenging thanks to a solid combat engine, but the level layouts are far more cluttered, and seem to go on for longer than they should.
-
Should offer up enough simple running and jumping and punching and kicking to satisfy those younger gamers out there who want nothing more than to hopelessly rekindle the experience of watching the film on their GBA.
-
In creating only six levels they decided to make this path system that actually frustrated me in the Fairy Woods level where "many paths look the same and you dont want to get lost."
-
Cheat Code CentralThe game looks good, sounds good, has a great collision detection system, no drop in the framerate or any other noticeable technical flaws. But like so many sequels, it's just void of a soul.
