Awesome game, but its a pity that the final chapter didn't last longer than it did. It was all too sudden, but every second played was relished. A painfully brilliant rendition of the original.

This game is very addicting. I liked how they brought in new powers into the game, like the power grip or the speed booster from metroid fusion. It's great to play the classic metroid game after beating the game once.

There comes a time in every gamer's life when you think that there won't ever be a game to be perfect. Then, a game like this comes around. I am amazed to say that I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this game. It's perfect. Simply perfect. Nowadays, I say that about a few more games, but this game was the first to start it off.

A true masterpiece of 2D gaming. For me, this is the best Metroid game in existance. The balance and refinement of the gameplay is at it's zenith for the series. It just cannot be improved upon. The difficulty, the sense of exploration with just the right amount of guidence, the controls, the graphics.... Perfect!

The graphics of Metroid: Zero Mission stands on its own and reminds me of the graphics of the Super Metroid. Everything in the game from the controls to the music are classic. It's a must have for Game Boy advance owners who are Metroid fans.

So happy to see this classic hit the eShop, and even happier that Fusion's annoying computer is absent here -- this plays a lot more like Super Metroid, with the same eerie atmosphere, tricky puzzles and tight gameplay. Love it!

An amazing game. One of the best metroidvania ever made. The graphics and sound are amazing even for today standards. This game is way more open and less linear than fusio, however there are less bosses and are a bit easier overall. Nontheless a must-play

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is my favorite Metroid game EVER. It might even my favorite game ever! It takes the original Metroid, brings it up to standards (Octo directional aiming, crouch shots, adds a MAP) as well as adding a whole new section! It adds “Chozodia” aka. The space pirate mother ship and Chozo ruins. This section is completely done with zero suit Samus. And when you finish, you are rewarded with the best items in the game. The plasma beam, the Gravity suit, and even space jump! With your new items, you need to go and beat the final boss (with power bombs!!!) and finally escape.

Fun fact: after beating a game, if you press
⬆️⬅️➡️⬇️, you unlock time attack mode.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The best game to begin in this beautifull franquice.

The game has absolute freedom regarding what you can achieve and do, if you wish, you can finish the game without getting the improvements you want.

In addition, they extended the original game with a pretty good and entertaining post game, but without breaking the original experience.

If this game had to define it with one word it would be: Adventure.

I cannot express how much I love this game. Very often with most games I will play for a few hours and stop playing out of being tired of the game and need some time away from it. NOT WITH THIS GAME. I literally needed to tell myself that I had to take a break even though I genuinely believe I could play through the whole game from start to finish in one sitting purely because of how much fun it is. The snappy controls, goosebump-inducing music, visually-striking enemies, and incredibly tangible sense of place in the game's world is everything I wanted it to be and more. If you have never played a Metroid game (or just a good 2D exploration game) and are interested in the idea of being a badass space bounty hunter that blasts tons of evil aliens with some interesting twists and turns in the story, this game will satisfy that desire and then some. Not only does it exhibit and exemplify some of the best 2D level design for almost any action adventure game ever seen, but it also offers a wealth of engrossing replayability for those that wish to explore the gloomy depths of the infamous Zebes.
  2. Where Zero Mission really adds to the legend is in the game's challenging surprise ending...this isn't your daddy's Metroid. [Mar 2004, p.92]
  3. Every minute of that five hours was excellent, and Zero Mission takes its place as one of the finest titles in the GBA's already impressive pantheon of platformers. However, we can't help but wish that it had been longer.
