In many ways this might just be my favorite GBA title of 2004. The designers have combined some really inventive gameplay that mixes collection, action, and puzzles with a great story and stylish presentation.
-
You also have the ability to save anywhere. This is helpful for the game not being too frustrating as well.
-
A great game for kids, and a definite good choice for Christmas for families, especially if they're fans of the Lemony Snicket books.
-
A great game for anyone who likes side-scrolling, collection-based games but wants to try something with a lot of new twists on the genre.
-
There is just nothing that really makes this game pop. It's not memorable. It does not stand out in my mind. And that is the most unfortunate event of them all.
-
Nintendo PowerThe need to select actions from a list of commands makes the game move at a slower pace than most platformers, but the variety gives the adventure depth. [Dec 2004, p.150]
-
Lacking in everything that makes a game enjoyable, this one should have spent more time on the drawing board before hitting the shelves.
