I can't say enough about Jazz Jackrabbit on the GBA. Jaleco and Game Titan have created a brand new experience while still keeping Jazz's classic gameplay intact.
-
The gameplay comes up short in terms of variety, so it doesn't have the same kind of staying power as games like "Yoshi's Island" or "Sonic Advance." Still, it's a fun ride while it lasts.
-
Strangely addictive and fun for the amount of time it takes to play through it.
-
Theres a major Nostalgia Factor for those who were playing PC games in 1994, and the single-pak multiplay helps, but if youve never heard of Jazz, old-school will just mean kinda generic.
-
While Jazz is a nice title to watch, it's much less entertaining to actually play.
-
A decent distraction and if the "Earthworm Jim" games disappointed you, Jazz probably won't.
-
Nintendo PowerA game with good but not outstanding graphics and great play control. [Apr 2003, p.136]
-
Play MagazineAnyone looking to go old-school, I mean like really old-school (like Amiga old-school) should put down the bong and break out a little Jazz Jackrabbit. [Jan 2003, p.86]
-
Cheat Code CentralA game that will appeal to novice and intermediate gamers. It's loaded with quality but it lacks variety.
