A vast improvement over the first game. The game is much sharper in the gameplay and in graphics, and is a much more enjoyable experience all around.
-
It is easily one of the best Action RPGs on the Game Boy Advance and one of the best licensed titles available for the handheld console.
-
A nice RPG for the GBA that even gamers who arent too familiar with the series will enjoy. If youre already a fan, all the better.
-
A far better game than last year's offering.
-
The graphics are bright and colorful, the gameplay is simple but addictive, and the quest is long and full of things to do.
-
A testament to just how thoroughly a game can be improved in its second coming.
-
Cheat Code CentralWebfoot actually improved just about everything in this sequel. They probably didn't have to but fans will be glad they did.
-
The music may be the best feature of this game (And this is a pretty decent game.) The developers did a fantastic job of recreating the series compositions for the small speakers of the GBA.
-
You can expect 20-25 hours of gameplay from Legacy of Goku II. Its all standard adventure gaming stuff with a dash of RPG thrown in to spice things up.
-
Better than the first in every category.
-
The game's primary goal is to distill roughly 38 hours of TV episodes into 15 or 20 hours of hands-on gameplay, and it succeeds at doing so.
-
I like the characters though, and Webfoot Technologies has really done a good job of taking DBZ and turning it into a game.
-
Game InformerA slightly above-average game with unrealized potential. [July 2003, p.122]
-
Fans of the series will like this game. It controls well, follows the story of the show almost religiously, and has some replay if you like leveling up.
-
Pocket GamesThough the action portions could still use some tweaking, Legacy of Goku II is a better effort all around that is bolstered by colorful graphics and catchy music taken straight from the TV show. DBZ fans can buy this with confidence. [Fall 2003, p.45]
-
Play MagazineTo date, the essential DBZ gme. Go Atari! [Aug 2003, p.76]
-
GameNowWhile its gameplay is neither fantastic nor bad, overall, it's a solid action-RPG that does a great job of capturing the phenomenon on which it's based. [July 2003, p.50]
