Impressively attempts to bring the identical console experience to the Game Boy Advance and, for the most part, does an admirable job. Still, its clear by the unsteady framerate and choppy graphics that the GBA does have its limits and this game definitely pushes it to the max.
-
Definitely a fun GBA game, but you have to work through the game's blocky graphics and very inconsistent, chuggy framerate.
-
Pocket GamesHandling isn't exceptional, nor is replay value, but it'll pass muster. [Summer 2003, p.39]
-
Nintendo PowerNine Crazy Box minigames add to the game play variety. [June 2003, p.139]
-
Im not saying Catch a Ride is bad, because it does the best job that Crazy Taxi could possibly do on a Game Boy. There are just certain places that the GBA should not go, and a full-out 3D port of a 128-bit game is one of them.
-
A chunky mess of a game that bears some resemblance to the Crazy Taxi I know and love, but one which is lacking most of its fun.
-
While Crazy Taxi is still playable despite the faults, the platforms limitations diminish the overall fun, making this taxicab racer rather pedestrian.
