The concept is well-executed, but the lack of different play modes or minigames limits the title's scope. [June 2004, p.121]
  2. It's a shame that this port isn't more ambitious, because there's a downloadable, deluxe and for-pay version of Bookworm for the PC that a faster mode of play, with burning blocks appearing in real-time.

But when it comes to game variety, Bookworm is a little hollow simply because the designers didn't go any further than offering a simple, portable rendition of the PC download.

Addicting. It operates on many levels. Not only to you have to think fast but you have to plan in advance. I think that most gamers will be amazed at just how many words they can think of when pushed to the limit.
  5. If anything, the game is a great time killer, but since it’s pretty much an exact copy of what’s readily available for free on their website, it really doesn’t warrant a purchase.

I LOVE this game because it makes you think & can be very frustrating, or very satisfiying. Even after I get burned out on it, I eventually I LOVE this game because it makes you think & can be very frustrating, or very satisfiying. Even after I get burned out on it, I eventually go back to it. I've made it to level 15 and I'm curious as to how many levels there are. Does anyone know? It's a great game... Full Review »

I love this game, but i do agree with the critics on this one. There is a lack of variety. --But you also have to take into account that I love this game, but i do agree with the critics on this one. There is a lack of variety. --But you also have to take into account that there is pratically a whole dictionary of words stored into the cartridge. Yes, of course, i agree that more could have been done with this, (prehaps a time attack???) But as I have this game on my PalmIIIc, this game is still very fun, and addicting (and nerveracking at some points.) On a lighter note, the music is an improvement to the gameplay; although, it does get kinda annoying because of the lack of variation. -smartguy240x Full Review »
