The single-player game sticks closely to the tried and true Bomberman action we have come to know while not relying too much on the involvement of the Pokémonesque charabom characters (that were introduced in the original versions last year) to create a surprisingly good handheld title.
-
Game InformerThe single player quest is a tad tedious, but still entertaining. A good buy. [August 2002, p.91]
-
Fans of the Bomberman franchise will undoubtedly find a lot to like in Red Advance thanks to the addition of the battle mode, mini-games, and charabom-collecting elements.
-
The action might be a little too slow-paced for some...and the unfair elements, like the hidden death spots, are a little too much to ignore.
-
Theres nothing that Bomberman Max 2 does wrong, its just that weve all seen it before so many times that its starting to get stale.

Dec 30, 2022Pokemon did it better. This game somehow got a higher player score than ocarina of time, despite the game being just ok.
