Theres nothing that Bomberman Max 2 does wrong, its just that weve all seen it before so many times that its starting to get stale.
-
Game InformerThe single player quest is a tad tedious, but still entertaining. A good buy. [August 2002, p.91]
-
With the games inherent frustration factor, Bomberman Max 2 will be a game players return to once in a while and just pick up and play for a little while.
-
The game feels closest to 1980s arcade titles in terms of structure and fun.
-
The link-up games are a little on the lame side, too, considering that the Bomberman name is synonymous with great multiplayer action.
-
Nintendo PowerEach version features a unique ending and varying objectives for the game's 100 areas. [Apr 2002, p.152]
-
A fun adventure game with a decent collecting aspect and a few fun minigames. But compared with meatier strategy RPGs, like Pokémon or Robopon 2, it is difficult to imagine the game keeping anyone's interest over the long term.
-
One of those games which stands inches away from greatness.
-
If you've already got last year's Bomberman Tournament for GBA, you probably don't need this one as well, unless you're a Bomberman freak.
-
Just isn't a very enthralling game.
