  1. The Touch Screen is both used and abused, offering a few poorly executed trick concepts and a slew of customization options for the creative artist in all of us.
  2. Sk8land is the best attempt yet to convert the old boy of skateboarding to a portable.
  3. The developers went back to the core ideals of the franchise, and came out with what made it fun, and fully customized to really shine on the DS.
  4. Tiny DS buttons make tight and efficient combos downright painful, and unless you set your sights on buffing your skater’s speed stats from the get-go, the pokey pace of play will put you to sleep.
  5. There's enough levels to provide a bit of variety to the single player modes but multiplayer is definitely where it's at, and always has been.

The gameplay is'Tony Hawk American Sk8land' is a good Tony Hawk game, it's got classic mode, and even, to an extent, create-a-skater. The gameplay is reminiscent of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, but with custom voices, skateboard deck and graffiti customization, and more! As this is a DS title, don't expect super graphics, rather a cell-shaded ps1 aesthetic. It's hilarious making your skater say whatever you want when you bail or pull of a GAP or special trick. I personal say "Hell yeah" and "Oh **** as my skater voices, and my graffiti tags simply reading **** I've had fun doing various challenges and building up the warehouse, to quote Todd Howard "It just works". My only minor complaint is the lack of the ability to walk, which exists in the PC/PS2/Xbox version 'Tony Hawk's American Wasteland'. Final verdict? 9/10 Full Review »

This is a great game, although I wished that it was a little longer(I beat the story mode in one day). I just got so addicted to it. I liked how customizable the game was compared to other hand held Tony Hawk games. Full Review »
