Aside from the plentiful missions, deep Map Editor and challenging opponent AI, the gameplay makes for some fun moments with your Stylus.

This handheld version of Tom Clancy's EndWar offers a satisfying, tactical gaming experience.
-
Tom Clancy’s EndWar is a kind of a brainteaser and if you enjoy playing games like Advance Wars you will definitely like this one! Just moving your units through the field isn’t enough. You will have to use your brain to survive.
-
Nintendo GamerVery playable. [Jan 2009, p.73]

EndWar DS is a perfectly suitable turn-based strategy game, but there are too many better titles of this sort available on Nintendo's handheld. Advance Wars, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Disgaea all have better visuals and more unique gameplay.
-
Obviously inspired by Advance Wars, EndWar adds enough interesting elements of its own to make it worthy of consideration.
-
We can't help but come to the conclusion that while EndWar provides DS owners with an alternative turn-based strategy experience, it does not provide them with a better one. That's not to say it's not worth picking up. It's just that Advance Wars is still our preferred fodder when the handheld strategy cravings start to bite.
-
Tom Clancy’s EndWar on the Nintendo DS is a pretty good game if you enjoy turn based strategy, and it does have plenty of levels to keep you busy.
-
Official Nintendo Magazine UKUnless you're gagging for a handheld strategy game and have already played Nintendo's offering, it's not worth taking the risk. [Jan 2009, p.99]
-
Tom Clancy’s EndWar could’ve established itself as a must-own game had it done anything better or more stylishly than predecessors like Advance Wars. Instead, DS owners are given another RTS that brings nothing interesting to the table, and can get easily lost among the dozens of other games it shares so many similarities with.
-
It might be worth a rental if you're really into this type of game, but otherwise Advance Wars does everything that EndWar does, and does it a lot better. With that in mind, I see no real reason to buy this game.
