Altogether, I think it's a pretty good value for $20, and while it's a budget title intended for kids, I think it would be a pretty solid game for any casual gamer.
-
The Hardy Boys: Treasure on the Tracks was a trip down memory lane worthy of the price of admission.
-
The Hardy Boys are having a good time on the Royal Express, and so will any player who picks up this game. History buffs will especially appreciate all the little details on the train and the surrounding locations of Europe. A nice portable experience with two well-known young sleuths, Joe and Frank Hardy.
-
As a whole, The Hardy Boys: Treasure on the Tracks is a pleasant adventure game with an interesting, if not always plausible, story.
-
You do eventually play as both the brothers and also their mysterious helper, but it is not a matter of choice as the game forces you into situations. There are also some timed puzzles and circumstances that can cause your capture and in one case even death, but fear not for the game is forgiving and you will automatically return to the point before the deadly mistake.
-
Nintendo GamerThe whole thing feels quite cheap. [Winter 2009, p.70]
-
The Hardy Boys: Treasure on the Tracks is a disappointing title all around, which is shocking considering Her Interactive’s track record with the always-creative Nancy Drew series.
