Nintendo GamerNot enough depth to bother a PC strategy title, but the intended crowd (fans of manga girls) may find something new to do here. [Sept 2009, p.71]

Jan 6, 2011Don't go near this game.
-
One of the worst titles we've seen in the glorious life cycle of our beloved Nintendo DS. An example of how a strategy game shouldn't be, slow, poor and with a boring storyline.
-
SFG seems larger than it is because each campaign has its own flavor and unique perspective, but slogging uphill through one nation's campaign is such a test of patience that it's hard to imagine what would drive someone to willingly play through a second or third time.
-
Spectral Force Genesis is a really disappointing game overall, and while I found myself oddly enthralled with clicking through menus, the end result is that I spent a lot of time not really doing anything at all. Anyone who's considering picking up this title should avoid it, as it's really not worth your time.
-
In the end, Spectral Force Genesis ends up being a rather disappointing title on all fronts.
-
Spectral Force Genesis is pretty deep, I suppose, but being deep to the detriment of the gameplay is never a good idea.

Jun 1, 2023Strategy wargame that's nothing but endless menus and number crunching. Really, really pointless and dull.
