Nintendo PowerThough the game shines in strategy play, it lacks luster when the focus is on individual events. [Dec 2005, p.124]
-
The unfortunate part is that this game is so basic that it can only serve to entertain newbies. It's got less depth than the average tutorial.
-
It’s short. It’s simple. It might be neat for a while, but unless you’re stuck with this game and this game only and isolated from any other source of entertainment, you’re unlikely to get more than a few hours worth of entertainment out of Shogun Warriors.
-
You would think that a real-time strategy game would be a great fit for the Nintendo DS, but stay away from this one, with its busted artificial intelligence and half-baked minigames.
-
It is simply no fun to explore, painful to play, and lacking of everything that makes strategy titles entertaining and addictive.
-
Unfortunately, GamesRadar's editorial staff doesn't yet acknowledge the Real Time Conflict genre, so Shogun Empires had to be scored according to the narrow standards of fun, successful strategy games.
