Photo dojo is a fun fighter where you make fighters (Up to 8!) that can be humans, pets, sprites, toys, or anything!!!! After you make your sounds and fighters, its time to fight with you fighter in 2 ( :( ) game modes. Fight in others in vs, or rack up a high score in single player. fight till you're ,bored! P.S., heres a good idea for vs- Split vs mode in 4 modes; P1 vs cpu, practice,Photo dojo is a fun fighter where you make fighters (Up to 8!) that can be humans, pets, sprites, toys, or anything!!!! Put a little bit of imagination and effort into this game and you will have a blast.

Photo Dojo's concept, design and execution is robust and a potential for laughs all night long. Take photos of yourself or friends, really put the work in, record your voice and attack clips and stand back and play a decent beat-em-up that would put a smile on anyone's face. The possibilities are endless with this app, it uses the DSi/3DS camera to the best of it's abilities, and truly gives the beholder a tool to create magic. On top of the the game-play once you have created your fighters is pretty decent, special moves are easy to pull off, and fill your roster with a cast of characters and you will be hard pressed to tell this from the best beat-em-ups on the planet.

Really inventive and made with a lot of effort, this is the best way to be in the game

A good concept, but could use updates or a sequel. I enjoyed my time playing this, but it felt limited. I wanted more. One thing I'd like to have seen was a level editor where you create custom waves of enemies. It needed local multiplayer with multiple devices, online multiplayer and single player against a bot. (There is single player, but you fight waves instead of one strong enemy.) I think all of these things warrant a sequel, but I'm WAY too late to this party. About 6 years late. Again, a good concept, but limited by the DS and the time it was released. Expand

While the actual gameplay of Photo Dojo is incredibly simplistic, the main gimmick and charm of the game works wonders, really fun to just mess around in, not a great game, but one that will bring you joy.

  1. It’s hard to knock Photo Dojo: its versatility and use of the DSi’s functions are superb, and the potential to create fighters based on friends, figures and anything else you can photograph is enough to forgive its simplicity and lack of gameplay modes.

It may be enjoyable for some, but if you are looking for a fighting game, keep searching.

It's daft, clever, simple and cheap. We want to see more DSiWare games like this one. [May 2010, p.90]
