  1. For its price, this game’s capabilities are pretty good. I’ve got another cliché yet relevant quote to end: “never judge a book by its cover.” And in this case, don’t judge this DS game by its cover either.
  2. Disc Sports as a concept has great potential. Sadly, this attempt fails to tap that potential and comes off feeling half-baked. Golf is playable, but that's about it. What's sad is that with a critical eye and bit more polish, it could have been truly stellar.
  3. If you’re only looking for an Ultimate or Disc Golf game that provides the bare minimum of gameplay possibilities and graphics, then this is your game. For the rest of us we still need the whole enchilada, beans and rice.

It's almost as if the company wants to encourage players to put down their Nintendo DS systems, and get outside to enjoy the real Frisbee experience. Which would be noble if it was really the case, which it isn't.

However, there is some definite fun to be had. To start, it is a dual pack so there are two games included. I don't know how much this launched for, but I got it for $5 and I would say that makes it worth it. The controls are pretty good and work well, the graphics are fine for the time, and the AI usually works well. The main gameplay is enjoyable. The main problem is the sheer lack of content. There are two games in this game, but each one feels like barely 10% of a game. The first game is Ultimate Frisbee. This is basically just football, it is fine but all there is is just playing a game against a cpu or friend. No unlockables, no stats, no extra modes, nothing. One game will take about 20 minutes and every game after will be about the same. The second game is frisbee golf. It is pretty much just golf, there are 18 holes and its a solid game. Again, little content and not many extra modes. This game is just that, a video game, and so it does little to make it feel like a frisbee game. The modes just feel like football and golf, and the frisbee elements feel missing. In conclusion, a fun time if you can find it for cheap. If this game launched for $20 or more dollars, that is a blatant scam. Full Review »
