  1. Just know that the game does one thing, and it does it well. Admittedly, Neves is a simple, no frills affair, but its addictive nature and robust length makes it just as hard to put down as any other quality puzzler out there.
  2. Planet Puzzle League set the bar extremely high for puzzle games, especially with the use of Wi-Fi; and while NEVES doesn’t come close to the slick presentation of PPL, it has a very solid gameplay mechanic that will be attractive to fans of the game.

Neves is a simple game, but it offers quick-hit gameplay that leaves you feeling a bit smarter at the end of your time with it.

To a big DS gamer the title might feel a bit empty the whole way through, but for the casual market it's aimed at, it really is exactly what they need and want.
  5. An intuitive and absorbing puzzle game with a solid central concept. It just needs to branch out a little in order to join the puzzling elite.

It should be unutterably dull but it's weirdly addictive. [Issue#21, p.89]
  7. A word of warning though: this game has the most annoying background music EVER, a jazz-style soundtrack that completely destroys the languid atmosphere of the gameplay. Play it with the sound off, or you'll find yourself being driven slowly mad.
  8. NEVES isn't going to win any awards for originality, or even for presentation - great controls aside, it's all incredibly minimalistic.
  9. The game’s casual appeal and pick-up-and-play attitude makes this an entertaining game. However, the lacking audio, overall presentation, and inaccurate controls does not justify the $30 price tag.
  10. Touch-screen controls will help you achieve Zen with this large collection of tangram-style puzzles.
  11. I think the game designers needed to put more effort into this game. This game is really fun and enjoyable but comes up short as far as graphics and sound.
  12. A very simple premise that will no doubt appeal to the DS' ever-increasing casual market, NEVES is strangely captivating in small doses - though it doesn't quite balance the gameplay between being addictive and frustrating.
  13. For conundrum fans though, this should be welcomed with open arms, as the relaxing nature of the title is sure to fit into the lives of many with a delicate ease.

Riveting stuff, no? No. And neither is this DS game. [Jan 2008, p.65]
  15. Tangram puzzles controlled by easy to learn touch mechanics. With several hundred puzzles you’ll find plenty to do here, but there is limited variation between the puzzles and solving them becomes tedious in the long run. Neves will however be a worthwhile package when the price tag goes down a notch.
  16. I am a patient guy but the extreme repetitiveness will annoy even the most enthusiastic puzzle fans.

The main draw for me was the sheer amountRarely do I find a game enjoyable enough to try and complete it fully. Neves is one of those games. The main draw for me was the sheer amount of puzzles: there are well over 300 on this DS cart. Let me repeat that: in a game where you have the same 7 blocks in every puzzle has OVER 300 PUZZLES. The fact that they pulled that off at all is amazing, but what's more amazing is that it really does work. Almost every puzzle feels somewhat unique. And the puzzles are no pushover: they start off easy enough, but some took me well over a month to wrap my mind around. On top of that, there are 3 different modes, with the same puzzles, which means to get 100% completion you need to finish the set of puzzles off thrice. This isn't necessarily bad: once you finish the main "Silhouettes" game mode, going back will seem like a blast of nostalgia. The sense is helped along by the smooth jazz tracks found throughout the game. There may be few, but they rarely, if ever, get old. The gameplay is easy to pick up, and the puzzles are fun to slot together as well. Overall, it's a dynamic little title any puzzle-nut MUST try some time in their life. Full Review »

game is simple to play and great for when you have time to burn, like waiting in the airport. multiplayer is quite fun, which many of thegame is simple to play and great for when you have time to burn, like waiting in the airport. multiplayer is quite fun, which many of the reviews neglect to mention. it really boosts the fun level. took off points because it does get repetitive after playing it yourself for a while. one other thing is the game is pretty cheap. i think i got it for $15?
