AceGamezI would like nothing better than to stamp My Frogger: Toy Trials with a must-have recommendation, because it does contain a number of creative game concepts and gameplay that is generally fun and rewarding, but in all honesty I can't go quite that far with my praise due to the often frustrating trial-and-error level design and tricky, counter-instinctive control scheme.
-
The most difficult part for most will be getting used to using the shoulder buttons to turn Frogger. Most people are used to simply using the d-Pad to do this in most other games, so using a different method might be hard to get used to. But if you can get past that, Frogger offers a myriad of different and fun activities that both kids and adults can enjoy.
-
Rest assure there is much to love about Frogger’s new adventure, even if it means turning this beloved mascot into a Tamagotchi of sorts.
-
Not as much as something akin to other innovative titles on the DS, but it’s worth a purchase if you just want to experience some familiar Frogger action for yourself or even the kids.
-
A bit of stylus-powered frog-in-a-ball rolling occasionally interrupts the bounding, but even this is clumsily controlled, with mad stroking more likely to erode your DS screen than get the spherical spawn of the devil to respond.
