The controls are surprisingly solid. Once you adapt to the small venue, the mechanics flow pretty well.
-
And to have the ability to see all 22 players on the field at one time as well as have the kick meter on the lower screen is more of a novelty than a practicality.
-
There are just too many glaring problems that would make this game recommendable to anyone but the most faithful of Madden fanatics.
-
While it's still got that Madden gameplay, the game as a whole seems to be incomplete, like a console game with stripped-down features. The touch screen is used in the basic ways, but so much more could be done with it.
-
It doesn’t excel, but it’s the best portable football game you’ll find on the market, even with its only average graphics and sound, and generations old gameplay.
-
There is a learning curve involved in figuring out not only how to attune your attention to the game but also in how to shift this from play to play. However this learning curve is far steeper than in other DS titles.

PhilE.May 11, 2005Superb for a portable version. True, the graphics aren't as good as the PS2, XBOX or GC but what do you expect. An excellent effort!
