The console versions of LEGO Rock Band are merely reskinned, rehashed Rock Band experiences, but the Nintendo DS version feels fresh and new.
-
Nintendo GamerA top-notch DS music game. [Christmas 2009, p.65]
-
It may have some tough competition, but Lego Rock Band is certainly one of the best music games on DS that anyone can enjoy.
-
While it may suffer from repetition and some iffy vocal note tracks, it'll take a very cold-hearted gamer not to warm to Lego Rock Band's infectious humour, varied track list and excellent gameplay.
-
Though it's not even close to the real Rock Band experience, LEGO Rock Band offers great fun and an unexpected thickness. The tracklist lacks of many of the songs you can get with the Xbox 360, PS3 or Wii versions, but the audio quality is awesome for the Nintendo DS standards.
-
While the presentation is a bit disappointingly simplistic, the core gameplay is fun and a worthy challenge to even the most seasoned of button tapping rhythm vets.
-
LEGO Rock Band for the DS is ultimately a disappointment, unless you're someone who can't go ten minutes without a Rock Band fix.
-
Lego Rock Band is a nice game, with the same gameplay structure seen in Rock Band Unplugged for Playstation Portable; appeal and irony made are typical for the Lego franchise. On the other hand, it’s a real shame that NDS controls aren’t well implemented.
